If you have the option to install either, typically a 230V is a bit better, as it offers an easier upgrade path. The 230V also permits you to use slimmer gauge wire, which is a bit more cost-effective.</p><p>Only single-zone wall-mounted ductless mini splits of 9 or 12 kBTU come with a 115V option. Other models such as light-commercial systems (cassettes and ductable units) and multi-zone systems require 230VAC service.</p>
