What is the difference between 115V and 230V systems?Updated 17 hours ago

There is no real performance difference between 110/120 (115V) and 208/240 (230V) versions of the same BTU capacity. It all comes down to what you have available or your preferences.

We offer the 115V versions of 9000 and 12000 BTU single-zone wall mounts for those whose panels are limited in adding additional electrical breakers. 230V would generally run more electrically efficient, but the electrical cost to run either is fairly even. If you have the option to install either, typically a 230V is a bit better, as it offers an easier upgrade path. The 230V also permits you to use slimmer gauge wire, which is a bit more cost-effective.

Only single-zone wall-mounted ductless mini splits of 9 or 12 kBTU come with a 115V option. Other models such as light-commercial systems (cassettes and ductable units) and multi-zone systems require 230VAC service.
