Yes. The condensing (outside) unit is factory pre-charged with enough refrigerant to support lineset lengths between 10 and 25 feet per zone.

Therefore:

• A single-zone system would have enough refrigerant to support 10-25 feet of connected line.
• A dual-zone system would have enough refrigerant to support 20-50 feet of combined attached line.
• A triple-zone system would have enough refrigerant to support 30-75 of connected line.
• Etc.

For example, if you have 33 feet of line for a single-zone or 65 feet of line for a dual-zone unit, the length of the connected lines are over the value. In this case, you will need to top off additional refrigerant during installation, compensating for the additional length and rebalancing the internal pressures. Typically, you will need about 0.16-0.20 ounces per excess foot to top off the additional refrigerant. You can add more refrigerant via a tank of refrigerant or by using a Quick-Recharge R410a Refrigerant Bottle for HVAC Systems.

Note: We cannot modify the factory pre-charge since it is a sealed system. Adding more refrigerant must be done during installation.
