Sizing Systems & Short CyclingUpdated 3 hours ago
Should I Worry About Short Cycling When Sizing My System?
Short cycling is an issue typically only with the older on-off style systems, whereby they may be a bit too oversized for the space and leading to constant on/off cycle which is quite inefficient.
All Pioneer HVAC systems are variable speed inverters that can lower their capacity down to as low as 30% if that's all that the zone is calling for. So that risk is nearly entirely eliminated!
It's always better to slightly oversize and have the extra BTU capacity in reserve for times when it may be needed such as during heat waves or when heating in the dead of winter.
