Leave the system completely de-energized for at least 45 seconds – 1 minute.
Restore power to the unit.
On the wired controller or handheld remote, press and hold MODE + UP simultaneously for 4–6 seconds until:
The display shows “AP” or “CF”, or
You hear a double-beep
- The unit is now in pairing mode.
In the app, confirm that the indicator is blinking rapidly, then tap Next.
When prompted, go to your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and connect to the unit’s temporary network (shown as SmartLife-XXXX).
Return to the Pioneer Airlink app.
Enter your home Wi-Fi network name and password.
The unit will begin pairing and display a 2-minute countdown.
Important Additional Step for LCAC Users
(Cassette, Ducted, and Floor-Ceiling Models)
Some LCAC models require an explicit AP-mode selection inside the app, even after the unit itself is already in pairing mode.
If you are pairing a Cassette, Ducted, or Floor-Ceiling unit, follow this additional guidance:
Once pairing mode is successfully engaged on the unit, you should see “AP” displayed on the controller screen, indicating the unit is ready to pair.
In the Pioneer Airlink app, make sure you:
Select Air Conditioner
On the Reset the Device screen, tap the drop-down menu in the top-right corner
Explicitly select AP Mode before continuing
This step ensures proper communication between the app and LCAC indoor units and resolves most pairing failures specific to these models.
If Pairing Fails
Repeat the power-down reset and pairing sequence
Confirm you are still on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
Make sure the AP network (SmartLife-XXXX) appears in your Wi-Fi list
Stay within 10–15 feet of the indoor unit during setup
