Can a Lineset Be Angled Upward?

Yes, refrigerant lines can run in any direction, and the indoor and outdoor units can be positioned higher or lower than one another. However, the maximum height difference between the units typically ranges from 33 to 50 feet (10–15 m), depending on the model.

The indoor unit requires a condensate drain hose with a downward slope.

The ceiling cassette and ducted ceiling-concealed systems feature built-in condensate pumps with a maximum lift of 32 inches (813 mm).
