Perform Routine Maintenance on Vertex Ducted Central Split (DYC-18) SystemsUpdated 4 days ago
Introduction
This article explains how to perform routine maintenance on Vertex Ducted Central Split (DYC-18) systems.
Regularly maintaining the system is important in order to ensure high performance and minimize possible equipment failures.
Qualified service technicians should regularly inspect the system and perform the routine maintenance.
Annual System Check
The annual system check must include the following:
- Check the filter every 90 days or when needed. If the filter is blocked or impaired, clean or replace it immediately. Do not operate the system without a filter.
- Inspect and clean the impeller housing and motor.
- Check and clean the indoor and outdoor coils as needed.
- Check and clean the indoor coil drainpipe and drain pan, as well as the auxiliary drainpipe and drain pan.
- Check all wires and connections. If corrections are needed, refer to the wiring diagram.
Do not use chemicals or chemically-treated cloths to clean the equipment. Also, do not use benzene, paint thinner, polishing powder, or other solvents to clean the system.
Safety Notes
- Before cleaning or performing maintenance on the system, turn off the equipment and disconnect its power supply.
- When removing the filter, do not touch the metal parts in the device. Sharp metal edges can cut you.
