Cooling Only SystemsUpdated 13 days ago

Can I buy a Pioneer system that is cooling only? I don't need heat.

All of our systems are heat pumps meaning heating and cooling. We do not carry AC only units, but you can disable the heat function if not needed.

While it may seem to be an uncessary added expense to install a heat pump in a scenario that may never need heating, it actually isn't worthwhile most of the time to have a cooling only system. The reason is that it is only an incremental cost to turn an air conditioner into a heat pump (by way of adding an inexpensive mechanism called a reversing valve) but also, heat pumps tend to have more innovative technology that allows their efficiency to be greater than cooling only units.

So, that small incremental cost to get a heat pump instead of a cooling-only air conditioner will pay itself back to you in no time when you go with a heat pump, even if you only need cooling.
