Select the Installation Location for Quantum Fresh (WYT-FA) Indoor UnitsUpdated 3 days ago
Introduction
This article explains how to select the installation location for Quantum Fresh High-Wall (WYT-FA) indoor units.
Install the indoor unit inside the room intended for air conditioning. Avoid corridors and communal areas. Before starting the installation, select the positions of both the indoor and outdoors units.

Select the Location
Follow the tolerances depicted in the illustration below:

Due to the fresh air + gentle wind mechanism, the model is designed without fingerguards. For safety reasons, the indoor unit's louver must be located at a safe height of 8-1/4 feet (2.5 m) or more above the floor. If the system is installed at a shorter height, any injury incurred from sticking fingers into the airflow louver is the responsibility of the installer or user.
Follow these best practices for selecting the optimal installation location:
- Do not install the unit on a wall that is subject to vibrations.
- Do not install the system near sources of heat, steam, or flammable gases.
- Do not install the indoor unit in a location that is exposed to direct sunlight.
- Ensure that the inlet and outlet vents are not obstructed. The system should be able to output air all across the room.
- Minimize the distance between the indoor and outdoor units. Install the system in a location where connecting the indoor and outdoor units will be as simple as possible.
- Install the unit on a strong wall and where it is easy to drain the condensate water.
- Install the unit in a location where it will be easy to service the product and perform any necessary maintenance.

Indoor Above Indoor Unit
- Install the indoor unit so that its bottom is at least 8-1/4 feet (2.5 m) above the floor.
- Ensure adequate space above the air handler for return airflow (4-6 inches, ideally 8 inches / 102-152 mm, ideally 203 mm).
Fresh Air Inlet
- Keep the fresh inlet within 14 inches (355.6 mm) of the wall.
- Rotate the pipe as needed to avoid interference with other lines.
- Ensure a slight downward slope to prevent rain intrusion.
- Maintain a minimum bend radius of 2-3/8 inches (60 mm) to preserve airflow.
- Do not place the inlet near exhaust outlets, enclosed areas, or polluted air sources.
