Understand the Additional Leakage Sensor for Wall-Mounted SystemsUpdated 19 days ago
Introduction
This article explains the additional leakage sensor for wall-mounted systems.
The auxiliary refrigerant leak sensor monitors the system operation. If refrigerant concentration exceeds the alarm threshold, the system will stop the compressor and start the circulation fan for safety.
The refrigerant leak sensor is equipped to systems for safety.
The following wall-mounted systems have the additional leakage sensor:
- Quantum Ultra High-Wall (WYT-24)
- Quantum Hyperformance (WYT-25)
Location of the Leakage Sensor
Note: The actual location may vary depending on the model and cabinet design.

Alternative Control Board Wiring Diagram
If the indoor unit is configured with a refrigerant leakage detection sensor from the factory or will be configured for one later, follow the alternative control board wiring diagram below:

Notes
- Use the additional leakage sensor in only specific installation scenarios that require an auxiliary refrigerant leak sensor to be installed.
- The refrigerant sensor has a design life of 15 years. Replace the sensor within its service life.
- The following are the alarm indicators for the refrigerant sensor:
Condition Error Code Refrigerant Leak Detected Display "Hd" Communication Error with Refrigerant Sensor Display "Fd" - Only use manufacturer-approved sensors as replacements.
