Understand the Defrost FunctionUpdated 4 days ago

Introduction

This article explains the Defrost function for QHD070 Whole-House Ducted Dehumidifiers. This product uses a fan-based defrosting method. 

Entering Defrost Mode

In Dehumidification mode, when the coil temperature is less than or equal to 30°F (-1°C) and the duration is greater than or equal to 15 minutes, the Defrost mode is activated. 

When the Defrost mode activates, the following will occur:

• The compressor turns off.
• The fan runs.
• The defrost indicator flashes.
• The dehumidification indicator turns off .

Exiting Defrost Mode

Defrost mode is exited when the coil temperature is greater than 37°F (3°C) and the duration is greater than 3 minutes. 

When the Defrost mode exits, the following will occur:

• The fan continues running.
• The compressor turns on.
• The defrost indicator turns off.
• The dehumidification indicator turns on.
