Flush A2L Refrigerants from Your SystemUpdated a day ago
Introduction
This article provides the steps for flushing A2L refrigerants from your system.
To ensure safety, flush the system with oxygen-free nitrogen (OFN). Do not use compressed air or oxygen for flushing. Repeat this process multiple times if needed.
Steps
Follow these steps to flush A2L refrigerant from your system:
- Break the system vacuum with OFN.
- Fill the system until the working pressure is reached.
- Vent the system to atmospheric pressure.
- Pull the system down to vacuum.
- Repeat this process until no refrigerant remains in the system.
- When the final OFN charge is introduced, vent the system to atmospheric pressure to allow for safe work. Position the vacuum pump outlet away from ignition sources and ensure adequate ventilation. Note: This step is critical before performing any brazing on pipework.
