Introduction

This article explains how to complete the system startup for Vertex Ducted Central Split (DYC-18) systems. 

Steps

1. Turn off the system thermostat. 
2. Turn on the disconnect switch and apply power to the indoor and outdoor units. 
3. When starting the unit for the first time while the outdoor temperature is below 70°F (21°C), it is recommended to let the crankshaft heater preheat for 1 hour before turning on the unit. When starting the unit for the first time in Heating mode while the outdoor temperature is below 23°F (-5°C), the system will force preheat for 1 hour before turning on the unit. PRH will display in the screen. 
4. Turn on the system thermostat.
