This article explains how to properly install indoor units in unconditioned spaces for Vertex Ducted Central Split (DYC-18) systems. 

If installing the indoor unit in an unconditioned space, remove two unused coil guide rails to minimize condensate on the surface of the unit. There are two pairs of coil guide rails in the unit, which are used for upward and downward air supply applications. Unscrew six mounting screws from both sides of the cabinet to easily remove the coil guide rail.
