Install Vertex Ducted Central Split (DYC-18) Systems in High-Humidity EnvironmentsUpdated 13 days ago
Introduction
This article explains how to properly install indoor units in high-humidity environments for Vertex Ducted Central Split (DYC-18) systems.
When installing the unit in a hot and humid place, if the temperature in the space exceeds 86°F (30°C) and the relative humidity exceeds 80%, insulate the outside of the cabinet. Use glass wool or polyethylene foam as the insulation material. The thickness of the insulation material must be greater than 2 inches (51 mm) and suitable for the installation space opening.
Condensate may produce on the insulation surface. Use insulation materials designed for HVAC systems. In the process of refrigeration, condensate could produce on the surface. Use an auxiliary drain pan and secure the equipment firmly to prevent it from falling.
