Why does the discount code only say "SAMPLE" when trying to refer friends?Updated 6 hours ago
It is expected behavior for the discount code only to say "SAMPLE" when referrers click their own referral links. The code displays "SAMPLE" instead of the actual coupon code to prevent advocates from misusing their own discount codes.
When a referrer opens their own referral link, they'll see:
- A note explaining the actual code will appear when friends view the page.
- "SAMPLE" instead of the real coupon code
The actual discount code will appear correctly when friends access the referral link from a different browser or device. This is an automated fraud prevention mechanism.
If you're still having issues, verify that you're:
- Using a different browser/device than the referrer
- Not already existing customers in our store (existing customers can't use friend offer codes)
