Can Wall-Mounted Indoor Units Be Installed Onto the Ceiling Instead?
No. A wall-mounted indoor unit cannot be set onto the ceiling because this could cause drainage issues.
Does the Indoor Unit Need Additional Hardware for Wall Mounting?
No. The indoor unit includes the mounting plate. Nothing else is needed.

Refrigerant lines can go in any direction, and the indoor and outdoor units can be higher or lower than each other.
What are the Drilling Requirements to Install Drain & Refrigerant Lines?
2-1/2~3 inches (63.5-76 mm) is sufficient. However, it can be up to 3-1/2 inches (89 mm) for larger BTU systems.

What is the Difference Between the 6-foot Plastic Whip & 4-Lead Wire?
The 6-foot whip is for the final connection to the condenser, while the 4-lead wire is for the main run between indoor and outdoor units in a mini split system.
What is the Ideal Height for Mounting Indoor Units?
The ideal height for mounting indoor units is preferably 7 to 8 feet from the floor and at least 4 to 6 inches below the ceiling.
What is the Standard Wire Gauge Needed for Connections?
The standard wire gauge for connecting ductless mini-split indoor and outdoor units is typically 16 AWG.
