Introduction

This article provides the steps for removing and evacuating A2L refrigerants from your system. 

When accessing the refrigerant circuit for repairs or other procedures, follow the industry-standard practices. In addition, take precautions for flammability. 

Steps

Follow these steps to remove and evacuate A2L refrigerant from your system: 

1. Recover the refrigerant into approved recovery cylinders. 
2. Purge the circuit using an inert gas, such as oxygen-free nitrogen (OFN). 
3. Evacuate the system. 
4. Purge the circuit again using inert gas. 
5. Open the circuit by cutting or brazing.
