Introduction

This article explains how to drill the piping wall hole for floor-ceiling flex indoor units. This is the fourth step in the installation process for floor-ceiling flex indoor units. 

This article is for the following system: 

Quantum Ultra Floor-Ceiling Flex (UYT-24)

Steps

1. Take the indoor unit off of the mounting bolts, then make a mark indicating where to create the hole. 
2. Drill a 2-1/2 to 3-1/8 inch wall hole at a slight downward angle using a core drill. Be careful to avoid wires, plumbing, and other sensitive materials. The bottom of the inside holes should be a 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch above the bottom of the outside hole. 
3. Add any available wall sleeves and covers. In addition, insulate the wall hole with packing putty to prevent heat loss.
