Pioneer Systems Offer Both Heating & Cooling FunctionsUpdated 7 hours ago
Can I Buy a Pioneer System That Only Offers Cooling?
No, all of our systems are heat pumps that provide both heating and cooling. We do not offer cooling-only units; however, you can easily disable the heating function if it is not required.
While installing a heat pump may seem like an unnecessary expense if you don't need heating, opting for a cooling-only system is rarely worth it. This is because upgrading an air conditioner to a heat pump requires only a small incremental cost.
Air conditioners can be converted into heat pumps with the addition of a mechanism called a reversing valve. In addition, heat pumps tend to feature more advanced technology, allowing their efficiency to be greater than that of cooling-only units.
To summarize, the small incremental cost of choosing a heat pump instead of a cooling-only air conditioner will pay for itself.
