Find Out if Our Systems Support Self-InstallationUpdated 3 hours ago

Are our systems able to be self-installed?

Yes, you can install a Pioneer mini-split system yourself, but it's more complex than plugging in a simple appliance. It involves several technical steps, similar to assembling a detailed model kit.

Self-installation should be limited to mounting the indoor and outdoor units and performed only by individuals with the proper skillset.

Qualified installers must handle the refrigerant lines, vacuuming, refrigerant, and recharging. Local, regional, or national codes and regulations must be adhered to when installing the split system HVAC products and completing the electrical work.

To receive your full warranty, ensure the product is installed correctly and the warranty form is submitted.

Tools Required

To complete the installation, these tools are required:

  • Copper Pipe Cutter: Used to cut metal pipes to the right length.
  • Flaring Tool: Helps shape the ends of the pipes so they fit together securely.
  • Vacuum Pump: Removes air and moisture from the pipes to ensure they work properly.
    • An alternative would be to use our custom Kwik-e-Vac kit.
  • Drill with Hole Saw Bit: For making a hole in the wall to pass the connecting pipes.
  • Torque Wrench: Ensures all connections are tightened correctly.
