Introduction

The “PA” error code is for Quantum Ultra Multi-Zone systems, and indicates the units are experiencing a mode conflict. Mode conflicts occur when one unit requests heat while another requests cool.

Troubleshooting

Solution: Resolve this error by setting all the indoor units to the same mode. 

Causes: 

1. If the indoor unit that was activated first (with the highest priority) operates in Cooling/Dehumidification mode, the other indoor units can only operate in Cooling/Dehumidification mode and Air Supply mode. Otherwise, an indoor unit attempting to operate in a different mode will report a mode conflict fault and will not be allowed to start up. This will not affect the indoor units already running. 

2. If the indoor unit that was activated first (with the highest priority) operates in Heating mode, other indoor units can only operate in Heating mode. Otherwise, an indoor unit attempting to operate in a different mode will report a mode conflict fault and will not be allowed to start up. This will not affect the indoor units already running. 

Note: Avoid running the units on Auto mode, as it could cause this error.
