P8 Error Code: Outdoor Ambient High or Low Temperature Protection

If the outdoor ambient temperature goes outside the following range, the compressor stops. After 200 seconds, the system displays error code "P8."

Cooling or Dry mode: Below -4°F (-20°C) or above 145°F (63°C)

Heating mode: 

1. OAT ≥ 104°F (40°C)
2. 86°F (30°C) < OAT ≤ 104°F (40°C) and RT > 95°F (35°C)
