How Mini-Splits Are PoweredUpdated 12 hours ago
How Do Mini Splits Get Power?
The main circuit panel is the primary power source for the outdoor unit. While 115V systems use single-pole breakers, 230V systems require double-pole breakers.
A disconnect box, or service switch, connects the main circuit panel to the outdoor unit.
The outdoor unit, which contains the condenser and compressor, connects to the indoor unit via a communication or signal cable. This cable delivers both power and control signals to the indoor air handler, eliminating the need for a separate wall outlet.
