Introduction

Learn how to drill the wall hole for the Quantum Ultra Floor/Ceiling/Low-Wall Flex (UYT-24) piping.

The hole being drilled in the wall is intended for the drainage and refrigerant piping. When drilling the wall hole, ensure to avoid wires, plumbing, and other sensitive components.

Steps

1. Remove the indoor unit from the mounting bolts, and mark the hole location.

2. Drill a 2-1/2 to 3-1/8 inch hole through the wall at a slight downward angle using a core drill. Take care to avoid wires, plumbing, and other sensitive materials. The bottom of the inside hole should be 1/4 inch above the bottom of the outside hole.

3. Add the available wall sleeves and covers, and insulate the wall hole with packing putty to prevent heat loss.
