Can I Install the System Myself?Updated 4 days ago

Can Our Systems Be Self-Installed?

Yes, you can install a Pioneer mini-split system yourself. However, the process is more complex than plugging in a standard appliance and requires several technical steps — similar to assembling a detailed model kit.

Self-installation requires the proper skillset and should be limited to mounting the indoor and outdoor units.

Only qualified installers must install the refrigerant lines, evacuate the refrigerant circuit, and recharge the system. All HVAC installation and electrical work must comply with local, regional, and national regulations.

To receive your full warranty, ensure you install the product correctly and submit the warranty form.

Tools Required

To complete the installation, these tools are required:

  • Copper Pipe Cutter: Used to cut metal pipes to the right length.
  • Drill with Hole Saw Bit: For making a hole in the wall to pass the connecting pipes.
  • Flaring Tool: Helps shape the ends of the pipes so they fit together securely.
  • Torque Wrench: Ensures all connections are tightened correctly.
  • Vacuum Pump: Removes air and moisture from the pipes to ensure they work properly. An alternative would be to use our custom Kwik-e-Vac kit.
