Understand the Refrigerant Leak Detection FunctionUpdated 9 days ago

This article explains the Refrigerant Leak Detection function for Vertex Ducted Central Split (DYC-18) systems. 

This function utilizes a R-454B refrigerant sensor to detect refrigerant concentration. 

If refrigerant leakage occurs in the indoor coil and the concentration is above 10%, the system will do the following:

• Cut off the power to the thermostat in order to stop the compressor from continuing operation. 
• Turn off the electric heat kit. 
• Output high voltage between Terminal F and Terminal L2. 
• Trigger the alarm.
