This article explains the compressor crankshaft heater control function for Vertex Ducted Central Split (DYC-18) systems.
The crankshaft heater will start if one of the following conditions are met:
- The compressor discharge temperature of the T5 sensor is less than 73.4°F (23°C) and the defrost function turns on.
- The compressor discharge temperature of the T5 sensor is less than 73.4°F (23°C) when powered on for the first time.
- The power off duration is longer than 3 hours or more than 2 hours when powered on for the first time.
The function will deactivate when the following conditions are met:
- The compressor discharge temperature of the T5 sensor is more than or equal to 82.4°F (28°C).
