Clean the Filters for 4-Way & 8-Way Ceiling Cassette SystemsUpdated an hour ago
Introduction
This article explains how to clean the filters for four-way and eight-way ceiling cassette systems.
The filter prevents dust and other particles from entering the indoor unit. Dust buildup can reduce the efficiency of the air conditioner. For optimum efficiency, clean the air filter every two weeks or more frequently if the unit is in a dusty area. Replace the filter with a new one if it's heavily clogged and cannot be cleaned.
This article applies to the following systems:
Caution
- Always turn off the system and disconnect its power supply before cleaning or performing maintenance.
- An authorized dealer or licensed service provider must perform the removal and maintenance of the filter.
- When removing the filter, do not touch metal parts in the unit. The sharp metal edges can cut you.
- Do not expose the filter to direct sunlight when drying. This can shrink the filter.
Steps
1. Open the screw cover and twist out the screw.
2. Press the buttons on both sides to pull out the air inlet frame.
3. Separate the frame from the filter assembly.
4. Clean the filter assembly.
5. Optional: Remove the fresh air filter. The filter cannot be cleaned with water. It is recommended to replace it regularly.
6. Clean the air filter by vacuuming the surface or washing it in warm water with mild detergent.
If using water, the inlet side should face down and away from the water stream.
If using a vacuum cleaner, the inlet side should face the vacuum.
7. If the filter was cleaned with water, allow it to air-dry.
8. Reinstall the filter.
