Clean the Anti-Dust Filters for Quantum Fresh SystemsUpdated 2 hours ago
Introduction
This article explains how to clean the anti-dust and fresh-air filters for Quantum Fresh (WYT-FA) systems.
Cleaning the filters is part of the maintenance required to ensure the system stays efficient. Inspect the filters once every two weeks.
Before carrying out any sort of maintenance, ensure that the power supply for the system has been turned off for more than 5 minutes. Wear safety gloves when working on the equipment, due to the sharp aluminum fin edges of the coil.
Note: Accessorial electrostatic or deodorizing filters are not washable and should be replaced every 6 months.
Steps for Cleaning Anti-Dust Filters
Follow these steps to properly clean the anti-dust filters:
- Open the front panel by pulling outward and upward at the indicated location.

- Keep the front panel raised with one hand, then remove the air filter with the other.

- The filters are washable and should be cleaned with warm water (104°F/40°C).

- Leave the filters to dry in a cool, dry place.
- Keep the front panel raised with one hand, then insert the air filters with the others.
- Close the front panel.
Steps for Cleaning Fresh-Air Filters
Follow these steps to properly clean the fresh-air filters:
- Open the front panel and remove the filter holder.

- Clean the filter using a vacuum or replace with a new one.
- When the usable filter life is less than 20%, the panel will display the remaining lifetime with a blinking icon, indicating that the filter will need to be replaced with a clean one soon.
- After replacing the EPA (Efficient Particulate Air) filter, hold down the Fresh Air button for 5 seconds to reset the memory.
Interior of the Indoor Air Handler
In addition to the filters, inspect the interior of the indoor unit as well as the inner coil every season. Disconnect the front panel and remove the top hinge where the pegs connect. This will offer easier inspections of the interior and behind the air filters.
Clean the interior with a damp, soft cloth and neutral soaps. Do not use any types of aggressive solvents or detergents. Do not spray water directly near the indoor unit, as it can damage insulation and electrical components.
